  2. Hobby Lobby Fabric? - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/.../general-discussion/49816-hobby-lobby-fabric

I don't have much experience with Hobby Lobby fabric, they just opened the first store near me. Of course I went to check it out. They have a decent selection of quilting cottons, not really any big name designers but nice prints in a wide range of colors. I bought a few yards, the prices were good. The fabric has a nice feel to it but I haven ...

Re: Sew-ology Thread My experience with their hand quilting thread is very bad. I will have to use it only for basting and setting up quilts in the frames. Hand quilting sew-ology thread is very thick, draggy, hard to thread, and twists while stitching. I have been hand quilting for @20 yrs and have never used such a poor thread for hand quilting.

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I have to agree with the majority,, I buy fabric wherever I find it,,, LQS here charge between $9.95 up to $12 per yard, but if I really want it I'll pay the price.

  5. Soft and Stable vs. Pellon FF77 stabilizer - The Quilting Forum...

Good to know. I did know it was only 20" wide and only plan on buying it when/if I can get it at 50% off. On a side note, the other day I found that Hobby Lobby has 40% coupons online that you can print out and use in the store, once a day.

  6. LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric

November 16, 2014, 08:43 AM. Re: LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric. I think some of the fabric at Joann's is fine. You need to feel it and be careful. I save on fabric by buying premium wide muslin for backing and buying online. You can get good deals online from M* and others.

  9. Where can I find cute laminate fabric? - The Quilting Forum -...

They have Thermoweb and Pellon iron on laminate vinyl, which is probably cheaper in the long run than buying already laminated fabric. That can be pretty expensive and the choices are limited. With the iron on you can use whatever fabric you like. I've found it cheaper on Amazon than at Joann's.

  10. Kona Cotton - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

A new Hobby Lobby opened up the road from me earlier this month. I went in there today and noticed Kona Cotton. Stupid question...is it the same Kona cotton that MSQC sells? If so, why are people so picky about buying fabric at HL. I'm fairly new to quilting. I've always bought fabric when I could get it on sale, cheap. I do buy pre-cuts from MSQC.

  11. Steam or Dry Iron? - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

Around here Best Press, which comes in several nice light scents, is $8.00 - $9.00 a bottle and is available at quilt shops. I'm sure it may be available at other stores like Hobby Lobby, I just never get to these stores to see what they carry. A bottle of BP lasts a long time. My LQS will refill empty Best Press bottles for about $5.50.
