Hi I was having the same issue and this is what got my yahoo account working with windows 11. Settings-Apps-Installed Apps-Mail & Calendar advanced options-Scroll down and terminate the running processes. As soon as I re-opened the mail app all my yahoo emails starting downloading from the server. Hope this helps someone.
It was to un-tick 'Use Microsoft Compatibility List'. As I said the version of Edge in version 1607, OS build 14393.693 works with Yahoo Mail. If you have a different version/build you could try turning off 'Use Microsoft Compatibility List'. To do this you need to get to Edge's Developer settings.

ATT Mail is Yahoo (ATT/Yahoo) Mail. Edge is remembering that you've signed in to both Yahoo and ATT/Yahoo. It may be remembering which you signed in to last time.
