The current guidelines for non-free content on Wikipedia, though written about at length on various project pages, does not seem to translate well into actual practice: many images are labeled as "fair use" without any deliberation, and many such images labeled would probably not be judged as "fair use" in a court of law. In general, if the image cannot be reused (including with redistribution and modification rights) by any entity, including commercial users, then the image must be considered non-free. Use of copyrighted material under an invalid claim of a non-free rationale constitutes copyright infringement and is illegal.
Please add a detailed non-free use rationale for each article the image is used in, which must also declare compliance with the other parts of the non-free content criteria, as well as the source of the work and copyright information. Step 1 – Find out who removed the image, and ask them why. At the top of the page there is a "history" tab. If you click on it, you see a list of all the edits made to the page. Try to determine which edit caused the removal of the image, and then go to that editor's talk page and ask them politely why it was removed.
