The browser shouldn't matter. If your Citi account (/Sears in my case) is right, your Thank You points are accessible and visible when you're logged in and you can seamlessly go to the thankyou.com site from your Citi account.
I have an account with Sears and I'm pretty sure this e-mail is completely legitimate automated e-mail. I doubt it is a (continuously repeated) "technical glitch" though, seems more like somebody is going through the psw/e-mail database in hope to gain access to the account.
Go into Sears Citi Reward Site (thankyou.com I think) Log in (be sure to select Sears - default is Citi and your Sears CC credentials will fail if you don't change to Sears) Click Shop With Points Click on Amazon (or maybe it was an expando button) Click the link to go to Amazon (you'll leave this site)
The Sears store card is definitely being cancelled on 7/20. On the rear of the paper sent out, at the bottom, is a QR code you can scan if you want to APPLY for the Citi Shop Your Way Mastercard, but it 1) won't be automatic, & 2) it will be a completely new account with no tenure from your old Sears card account.
I would try logging into your Sears.com or ShopYourWay.com account (or creating one) because Sears puts so much pressure on home appliances associates to make sure every single person is signed up for Shop Your Way that you probably were signed up when your purchased you just didn't know.
You can call Sears One Source at 1-800-479-5899. Option 9. A lot of my phone numbers are from 2015 so I'm not sure of how helpful they will be anymore. Your best bet would be to reach out to your nearest Sears Full Line or Hometown Store, determine where the delivery is coming from, and then retrieve a phone number to see if they can help.
There was no way that Sears (or Ford Motor or IBM or Coca-Cola for that matter) could have pissed that kind of money away for almost a decade before turning a profit. That's the sort of fake-it-til-you-make-it indulgence that only a startup gets to engage in.
OK so I'm a moron for having SYW points in my account (several hundred) My account must have been hacked because someone bought a shop vac and pressure washer on points the 4th of July. I'm thinking how does someone hack a sears account, but I guess it would be pretty easy because they just need a phone number.
No. We called. The first thing they want is your credit card. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDT CARD NUMBER. When I wouldn't provide a cc number, the service man called and explained that it was probably the compressor and it would be hundreds to fix.
10 years ago when Sears still had stores in my area, I think I had a SYW account, but I don't remember anything about it. The support email from SYW is asking for my SYW account number that begins with 7801, but I don't see it anywhere. She said that it should be there on the Citi side when I log in. It isn't there. Not sure what is going on?
