The Pink Panther. Pink Panther and Pals is an American animated television series and a modern adaptation of the classic DePatie-Freleng Pink Panther shorts from the 1960s. The series was produced by Desert Panther Productions and Rubicon Studios in association with Mirisch-Geoffrey-DePatie-Freleng and MGM Television.
Called “the world’s most flamboyant vehicle”, the bright pink custom car was designed by Ed Newton and built in 1969 at Bob Reisner California Show Cars by Ed "Newt" Newton, Dan Woods, and customizers Joe Bailon, Bill "The Leadslinger" Hines, and Bill Honda. [ 2][ 3][ 1] It was used in the title and credit sequences of the original cartoon.
This is a list of the original 124 Pink Panther animated shorts produced between December 18, 1964, and February 1, 1980, by DePatie–Freleng Enterprises (DFE Films). [ 1 ] 92 shorts were released theatrically. [ 2 ] The first 62 entries appeared on Saturday mornings via The Pink Panther Show under the same umbrella title starting in 1969 on NBC.
Art Leonardi was responsible for the main title graphic for all DePatie-Freleng entries. For The Ant and the Aardvark series, Leonardi expanded on a technique first introduced for the first Pink Panther cartoon, The Pink Phink. This entailed tearing paper into the forms of objects and characters to form stylized images. [6]

At the end of the film, Dreyfus weds Clouseau's former lover Maria Gambrelli (Jacques Gambrelli's mother) but is shocked to learn that Clouseau and Maria conceived twins: Jacques and Jacqueline Gambrelli. In the 2006 reboot The Pink Panther, Dreyfus (again as Chief Inspector) uses Clouseau as a decoy while he himself attempts to solve the crimes.
