Turn off the PS5 controller completely by holding the PS button for 15 seconds or until the lightbar turns off. Plug in the controller again and wait for it to show the orange lightbar. You can now turn on the controller and use it while its charging.

Yes, I use a PS5 controller for games where controller works better, like Souls games and stuff. For GTAV I use controller for driving and flying and then mouse and keyboard for the rest. I think it's worth it.
PSA: Dualsense adaptive triggers and vibrations work wirelessly on PC now! Haven't seen any news about this so I wanted to share. I can confirm that the PS5 controller's adaptive triggers and vibrations work wirelessly using Bluetooth 5.0! Touchpad works too! (Tested on Forspoken and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart)

As a ps4 controller owner, I have to agree that xbox controller is better for PC cuz of compatibility issues and default controller prompt from devs. I love my PS4 controller and still use it due to familiarity, but dealing with Xbox prompts in a lot of games definitely took a while to get used to.
Both of the features as well as the gyro were supported on the base game for my Steam Deck. If I remember correctly, there was even a setting that mentions the light bar from the DS4. From everything I've seen with the game, they seemed to make Playstation controller support a priority on the PC port. Even the speaker on the controller works.
