I've heard largely similar things regarding both versions of the console, but I'm still on the fence about it. On one hand, the slim model has significantly more storage (1 TB vs 825 GB) but the design's a bit weird and the vertical stand costs like $30 extra. The regular version looks better imo but doesn't have as much storage.
Both Horizontal. PS5 Phat (3 months old): would regularly get heat trapped and get to 100°F+ after even just an hour. PS5 slim: because its smaller, there is more space for the air to go and I can fit the fans in a more optimal spot and the new stand allows for air to pass through underneath.
This is the title of the video "PlayStation 5 - Same Immersive Power. New Slimmer Size" OP just didn't put the actual title. It's a 9:10 scale model. The funny thing is the depth is what they shaved the most off of the 3 dimensions and you can't really see the depth in the pics.

I am actually amazed at how much smaller the heatsink is here, compared to the absurd hunks of copper in the CFI-1000s. The way they pulled off tool-less disc drives is super cool though, and ...
Console/game discussions, news, support, trophy/media sharing and more! PS5 slim 3D model and PS5 fat 3d model size comparison. That's actually a significant difference. Not enough to make me go out and upgrade my launch PS5 but significant none the less. I'll consider upgrading when/if the pro gets announced.

Yeah the OG PS5 disc drive is noisy as well. Pretty much zero sound insulation and probably really cheap components. At least it's only on during disc check and installation I guess. You might be able to DIY some sound insulation with the disc drive being detachable if you can be bothered. Reply reply More replies.
Discussion. After comparing the PS5 and PS5 Slim, I concluded that the Slim seems to be better as it has the same price, it is smaller, has identical hardware, and more memory (200GB+, unless I'm mistaken). So I almost decided to buy the Slim but the fact, PS5 remains very popular, with people still choosing it over the Slim, leaves me with the ...
IMO - the new ps5 slim is a nice re-design, but it doesn't give you anything new, no new features, just a new form factor. The main console itself is $500, a second controller is like $70, and then that charger on it's own is like at least $30 new, and so you would get God of Ragnarok (although digital) thrown in, and it's one of the only PS5 ...
Anything below or equal to 8.00 has pretty good chance of getting a jailbreak next. And don’t worry about disc drive. Digital is fine because there’s already some webkit exploits that work upto ~7.60 i think. You only have chance for next jailbreak if console is unused i think.
