Feb 22, 2011. #6. My first shoes out of grad school were Mezlan. Bought them in 2005-2006 from Grapevinehill on eBay for app. $80 a pair and enjoyed wearing them for a few years. Decent start up shoe for the money, but noting I would currently consider. £170 sounds very expensive for the brand.
8,043. Reaction score. 102. Jul 23, 2006. #2. $95 as a starting bid is too high for this shoe that retail for $195. For around that price you would do better with Allen Edmonds. The quality of Mezlan shoes are very average to below average at most.
28. Jun 13, 2015. #1. Handmade, open laced, black alligator shoes. Elongated toe box. Made in Spain by Mezlan's high grade line, Platinum. Good condition. There is noticeable parting between a couple of the scales on the left toe area, but this doesn't detract from the overall appearance (see last pic). Measurements:
The quality is decent, but I think the value is good overall. Â You can't compare it to top-level shoes, obviously. Â But I don't think the leather is too far a step down from something like Brunomagli. Â And the construction seemed good to me. Â They are certainly better than, say, anything that Banana Republic makes (this is a shoe that I think most people have probably seen/felt). Â ...
I've found Mezlan to be stylish beyond AE, Hugo Boss and Santoni. It all depends on what your intended purpose is for the shoe. Are you wearing them daily for work, travel, or Sunday church only? I've found Mezlan to be a GREAT special occasion shoe as the comfortability is ever present for the duration. The exotics exude head-turning swagger.
May 14, 2019. #4. Having space between your toes and the end of the shoes isn't a problem for dress shoes -- that's really the only way a shoe with a sleek toe will fit unless you have very narrow feet. Compare your Mezlans to the other two shoes in your picture with rounded toes.

Zelli carries a nice line of shoes (leans more toward the traditional - but that is what I prefer) and for my money, they are some of the better designed shoes out there. As said - best buys are with the discount offers. If you are patient, they will come to you.
Cole-Haan is a brand, not a manufacturer. There are so many shoes constructed using so many different construction techniques with so many different levels of quality that it's really impossible to categorize them as high-quality or junk. Some Cole-Haan shoes are good, some are bad, and some are indifferent.
