Olx was annoying because of scammers and retailers. Marketplace was very neat it apparently has strong countermeasures. I was actually surprised how many people use it, there is also chance that regular users might also come accross your post. I mean fb has all our data so that's there.
Unfortunately, Snapdeal acquired Ebay's India operations and killed it. And now we're left with classified platforms like OLX which is just a spam/scam magnet. The platforms have zero motivation to fix this since, as someone mentioned here, most sellers/buyers will refuse to pay a fee for a buyer protection service.

Olx keeps your money and seller gets them after you confirm that transaction was okey. But never ever agree to pay outside olx, for example by clicking some link a saler sends you or by giving them your card number.
Last year I posted an ad on OLX and got a reply within ten minutes. The buyer tried to scam me by sending a QR code for "payment". I was familiar with the QR code scam and avoided him. This OLX seller is a fraud. So I found this guy on OLX. He is in Chiniot as per OLX description. Just posting it here to please be careful if you are dealing with him or will in the future. What happened is that I prepaid him (Stupid of me I know) and have not received the it yet.
