People often say they have IQs beyond 200, but this is ridiculous as real people with over/around 200 IQ study college level courses at age 9 and become chess grandmasters in their teens. Light and L have never shown this level of intelligence in the series. Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking reportedly scored '"only" 160.
Certainly above 140. But above that I don't think it's possible to say. In any case, regardless of his IQ, he can't be the genius that his fanbase like to pretend he is, considering how many rookie mistakes he made avoiding capture. His judgment and practical planning skills aren't concordant with his academic ability. 4.
Based off Death Note 13's profiles, I'd say probably highly intelligent in around 4-5 subtypes of intelligence. (It shows all intelligence as a graph for the sake of multi-intelligence theory. Light hits high spots in a lot of areas.) My guess for IQ would be around 150-160. 1.
Light Yagami, covertly known as Kira, is an extremely intelligent but a somewhat bored 17-year old pupil. When he found out about a notebook used by the Shinigami to sustain their lives and ...
Light was Extremely Cunning, Manipulative. It requires some Really good Brains To Utilize The Resources Available Light did'nt had a Fucking Base or an old guy who was an inventor with genius IQ. I agree that Light had Supernatural Advantages but still making Ryuk help him was his brilliance bribing and manipulating a Fucking Shinigami.
ADMIN. The smartest Death Note characters and their IQs (just for fun) Discussion. L Lawliet - 188. Light Yagami - 179. Near - 165 168. Mello - 158 160. Naomi Misora - 153. Mikami - 150.
Now being as realistic as I can, I would say each character would likely place in these number ranges: L: 260-350, yeah, this one might seem a bit extreme, but is the hardest to approximate, but looking at the highest IQ, William James Sidis, is said to have ranged between 250-300. Near: 225-300. Light: 200-275. Mello: 180-220.
An unfortunate fact of life is that all humans make mistakes. Light's first fatal mistake was killing Lind L. Taylor. For the first time, Light killed a man who he had thought to be a non-criminal. This proved to L that Kira was a human. A human that was mortal enough to feel threatened by a man on the television.
Light Yagami's intelligence is quite clearly shown in the anime because you can hear his thoughts and see that he already planned three steps ahead. I don't know many anime that show it that clearly While I have problems with Death Note, I'll always respect writers who's actually willing to show us how their characters think and plan.
I believe if Light was brought up like Tao, he would have similar feats to Tao and would've obtained his degree at a much younger age like Tao did. Even though I estimate Tao's non-verbal IQ to be higher than Light's, Light's verbal IQ is much higher than Tao's and his non-verbal IQ is definitely high enough to win a gold medal at the IMO.
