Try clearing all cookies , then when it asks about them on twitch, deny them all. That seemed to work for me here in Sweden, no ads at all. I think its connected to the ad targeting cookies. When you deny them I assume it cant figure out what to show you, so it defaults to nothing, like in my case. Give it a shot.
As of the last few days, it appears twitch updated their anti adblock so though these do block ads, the stream stays black forever. So far the only thing I've found to work right now is the very unpleasant last resort of an alternative player.
Then, as above, you can get Twitch Turbo, which will eliminate ads. Other option is to tell the streamers you watch to incorporate ad breaks into the show, so the viewers don't miss anything. Instead of just looking at an empty chair, you could just get an ad playing and look at the chair in the corner of the video feed.
Ive been using "twitch adblock 5.7.0" for a while which still works decently, then i tried TTV LOL Pro 2.1.3 which also works most of the time, but ever since twitch's new measures against adblocks a few weeks ago, i noticed that i might not get ads, but the stream often buffers/lags while playing.
Twitch is just plain abusive with the ads, I cant channel browse without waiting 2 mins between each one what a good way to drive off viewers trying to discover new streams. I would be more understanding if most of the ad money went to the streamer, but let me guess they dont get enough if any of it.
For context recently I’ve been using nextdns but just recently it stopped working for twitch mobile app, and have gotten ads once again. I tried using Adguard both the safari extension app along with its built in dns server thing, and it’s own vpn on its own app. And Still I get ads. Both on twitch mobile app on my iPhone and through safari.
The normal adblockers don't block video ads on Twitch. Twitch™ Adblock Plus, available for Edge and Chrome (but not Firefox) is the only one I found that really works. Only downside is that whenever you load a Twitch page, it displays an ad at the bottom of the screen asking for a donation, but that's a lot less anoying than Twitch ads.
Because Twitch updates their ads every 5 days to try and combat adblockers. Until we have a permanent sticky on this sub, this question will be asked every time Twitch rolls out new anti-adblockers. Also worth noting the search function is atrocious.
AdGuard is a company with over 12 years of experience in ad blocking and privacy protection mostly known for AdGuard ad blocker, AdGuard VPN, and AdGuard DNS. More than 150 million people have already chosen AdGuard.
331 votes, 185 comments. true. I stopped watching Twitch a year ago because of ADs. As soon as I’d log in and pick a stream I’d get 3 or 4 ads back to back to back and then another 2 ads back to back.
