When my relationship eventually ended, the phrase “once you go black, you never go back” rang in my ears. It put me in a box, limiting me in ways I didn’t realize until recently. Being someone's first doesn't mean they weren't ever attracted to someone like you before. It just means it's their first time dating someone who didn't look like them. So even before someone dates IR for the first time, they've already contemplated the possibility before.
