How can I register my Amazon Echo? To set up your device, follow these steps: 1. Download the Alexa app and sign in. 2. Turn on Echo: Plug the included power adapter into Echo and then into a power outlet. The light ring on Echo turns blue, and then orange. When the light turns orange, Echo greets you. 3.
I just called Amazon who informed me that 1st Gen Echo devices can no longer be registered on your account any longer. You will have to purchase a new device and I am not sure for how long, but they told me they would compensate me the purchase price to replace.
Hello @Timw1222 , Thank you for joining the Amazon Digital and Device Forum! Thank you for your post. You can ask the person you purchased the Echo device from to deregister the device from their Amazon account. If that's not an option, you can factory reset your device. After you reset your device, you can complete setup.
To add to the above, a 1st vs. 2nd generation Echo Show 5 or 8 are difficult to tell apart at first glance. The difference from the front is the 2nd gen models have a square or rectangular opening for the camera, while for the 1st gen models, it is round.
Or select the Echo 1st and then select “Update Wi-Fi”.-After the light indicator turns orange on your Echo 1st, connect your device to your Amazon Echo's Wi-Fi network. Windows 10; Choose the Network icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Mac; Select the Wi-Fi icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Restart your Internet router and/or modem. While your network hardware restarts, unplug the power adapter from your Echo device for 3 seconds, then plug it back in. Make sure that you're using the included power adapter for your Echo device. If other devices are able to connect, check that you are using the correct Wi-Fi password.
