1,682. Mar 8, 2014. #5. I got almost all my fish and aquarium life from these stores. There are a few other pet stores with better conditions for their fish and animals, but travel and convenience always plays a role. Most of their fish are cramped and stressed when they are there but their colors improve and adjusted well for me.
Chicago, Illinois, USA. First, PetSmart and other chains stores are there to sell and make money. They are not the ones to listen too. They are both males, should never be housed together or as a pair. They likely are adults, at least 5 years or probably more. The enclosures they sell is too small for adult Russians.
The original poster just wanted to know about the unusual coloring on the steppe tortoise they saw in Petsmart. However, it is a good, informative thread and worthy of continuing Petsmart doesn't take abandoned pets (I'm the head of the reptile And amphibian department there) also most of our reptiles are ALL captive bred we quit supplying wc ...
252. Dec 13, 2016. #5. I got their 60 gallon deal for $199. The stand IS cheap. It does the job, but I'd recommend taking care with water around it. My canister filter sits on a plastic tray, that has a 1 inch lip all around, so minimal spillage is caught. I also found the base to be 'unsteady' I braced it to wall (on a stud) to stabilize it.
Oct 14, 2018. #2. I got Marimo Moss Balls from PetSmart, and they work out pretty good. I did quarantine my moss ball for a day, and waited for it to sink. The Betta will love it. If you can’t get it to sink, you just squeeze the water out the ball, keep it squeezed while putting it in the water, and then release, it should float.
3,512. Aug 9, 2022. #2. It does not say whether the glass is tempered. For an aquarium as large as 125 gallons, it either needs to be thick plate glass or thinner glass that has been tempered for strength. If the glass is tempered, do not try drilling it as it is likely to crack unless you have the proper knowledge and tools.
I just don't feel comfortable putting a 55 gallon tank (just shy of 460 lbs) on a MDF stand. I believe Petco will be doing their $1 per gallon sale again in January. The largest tank I've seen in house at Petco is 55 gallon. They may have had a 75 +/- gallon bowfront at one time. Another good source for tanks is the Letgo app.
Personally, I buy from Petco because its my "LFS" (only a mile and a half from my house and a mile close to me than Petsmart, lol) and their prices are cheaper and their selection is better. Its all the same difference so long as you know what to look for in fish before buying them and you quarantine them. W.
Jan 5, 2017. #5. From others who sell it seems to be a $1 per fish pending on their size and health or instore credit. And. WombatCowboy at least guppies have a ton of babies and are easy to breed! But honestly that's not too bad. Or could sell them online too but that would involve shipping process.
Individual store. In my small city, I surprisingly have 6 Petco, 4 Petsmart, and 5 LFS writhin 15-30 minutes from one another. I’ve been to all of them. The best is a Petsmart and Petco. The Worst is a Petsmart followed by a LFS. Then there is everything in between. LFS doesn’t mean the best.
