The text says " If your plans change and you no longer wish to travel, you can cancel your trip anytime on aa.com. We’ll reinstate your miles and refund eligible taxes and fees up to 1 year after the ticket issue date".

Currently running into a problem of a 'Full refund to original form of payment' fare. When I purchased the fare a few month ago, as shown in the screenshot back then, it was 'Full refund to original form of payment'. If you purchase the fare today it would say 'partial refund to the original form of payment'. What I am experiencing: 1.
Hi all, I purchased a return trip ticket from HND to LAX for 2 adults on American Airlines (Main; booking code: O) a few minutes ago. When I booked, it said "Full refund to original form of payment". I tried to look at the detailed fare rules when I was making the purchase, but it does not show anything (already tried using different browsers).
An American Airlines telephone customer service representative advised me that I am not eligible for a refund unless: (1) the U.S. - Canada border remains closed in November and American Airlines cancels the flight, or (2) a schedule change of more than one hour is made to my reservation. or

Join Date: Nov 2017. Posts: 205. Getting refund for funds used to pay for upgrade on miles ticket. I had a one-way reservation for today that I cancelled several days ago. Paid for with miles but I had later received an offer from AA to upgrade each segment for cash. Short flights about an hour each at a cost of $60+ for each.
