I was originally going to purchase an All Glass tank stand for a 40 gallon breeder aquarium (36"L x 18"D x 16"H) that I am putting together. I went to the local pet store to order one, since most places don't carry a stand with those dimensions.
Just remember that the 40 gallon breeder does not have the cross-brace and needs a different cover than 50g or 65g 36x18 tanks that have the brace. Please don't ask me how I know this.:shakehead: Dead thread, but it came up on my search and may come up on others.

I'm planning to have plants, driftwood, sandy substrate and peaceful shoaling fish in a 40gb tank. Dimensions are 36"L x 18"W x 16"H. I have an opportunity to get a 40 gallon breeder or a 55 gallon for a pretty good price. This tank will be a planted community tank, so I am sort of leaning towards the 40 because of the extra depth, but the extra foot in length that the 55 has makes it look like it is so much larger than the 40. Fish would be a school of tetras and cories.
Just go to Lowe's or home depot and get the glass custom cut :thumbsup: For my 40Gal Breeder tank it costed me like $7. The only difference is the glass isnt as thick. Worked fine for me. If you go the LFS route their hard to find for that particular tank well here they are.
I have a 40 gallon breeder tank (which measures 18" deep x 36" wide), so I made the stand to fit that. The height of the stand is a total of 32.5", but that measurement includes the molding that covers the bottom black frame of the tank. The tank sits on a 1/2" thick piece of blue styrofoam. The styrofoam sits at a height of 30".
