  2. Are there any Class Bs comparable to the Airstream Atlas?

Reply. mwkingSD. •. There are a lot of Class C RVs with a lower MSRP than the Atlas, their trailers sell for more than a Class C of similar length, and there are a number of B+ models from several makers on the Mercedes or American chassis. That said, lots of people think the Airstream is that much better.

The Mercedes Chassis I can drive, and the LTV “house” has 6’5” clearance, which is more than a sprinter (6’2”) and highest on the market behind Airstream Atlas (6’6” - but costs $75k more, and poorer build quality since they outsourced to Thor a few years ago)

In 15 years the Atlas goes to the scrap heap. My airstream is 50 years old, and it’s still all original except the furnace, water heater, two windows, and toilet. This is a good point. We paid $15,000 for our '95 in 2011, and over in r/GoRVing someone said, "WOW that's a lot of money for a 20 year old camper."

2018 Atlas showing no Voltage on Chassis I know there is usually a fuse or two that the Chassis runs through before the Firefly system. Checked the 7.5 AMP fuse and it is not damaged at all and showing no resistance.

The battle born GC2 batteries are what airstream installs if you opt for their package. Those should be good to go in the battery compartment (you’ll need 2). If you want to add more, you’ll have to put them somewhere else - many people do if they are boondocking quite a bit. How much you want to modify your brand new trailer is up to you ...

The only problem I've had with it is an oil change place put the O-ring for the oil filter on wrong, and it dumped almost all of its oil on my driveway. I also found that they stripped or lost a bunch of the screws for the skid plate. That wasn't the Atlas's fault, and I do my own oil changes now.
