September 19, 1983. North Market is a food hall and public market in Columbus, Ohio. The Downtown Columbus market was established in 1876, and was the second of four founded in Columbus. The market is managed by the non-profit North Market Development Authority (NDMA), which also manages North Market Bridge Park, a market in Dublin, Ohio.
The hotel opened on January 16, 1984 as the Hyatt on Capitol Square. It was constructed along with the Capitol Square skyscraper on the site of the Hartman Building and Hartman Theatre, as part of the Capitol South redevelopment. The Hyatt was purchased out of receivership on July 7, 2011 by Driftwood Hospitality Management for $19.5 million.

July 12, 1982. The Great Southern Hotel & Theatre is an historic hotel and theater building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building currently operates as the Westin Great Southern Columbus and the Southern Theatre. It opened on September 21, 1896 and is the oldest surviving theater in Central Ohio and one of the oldest in the state of Ohio.
The first hotel built on that site was completed in 1842 at a cost of about $100,000. It was destroyed in a fire, along with the neighboring Odeon Theater, on November 6, 1860. [ 1 ] The loss was only partly insured ($10,000, with a structural loss of $150,000 [ 5 ] ), but Neil proceeded to build a smaller hotel on the site by 1862.
