The layouts are good for fishing and have the family comforts as well. MBC has a forum for owners, so you could look there for input.

01-21-2021 07:50 AM. Been all over both boats and they are both great boats. Several dealers actually sell both brands. Personally for me, there were several reasons I ended up with Sportsman as my choice, including the seakeeper option. Ride both and crawl all over both.
06-24-2017 08:17 AM. Cobia 220 CC Review. Purchased a new 2017 cobia 220 CC. Put approximately 10 trips on her so far this season. Figured Id give a small review since there wasnt much info on her...although it is the same hull as the 217 and there is a few reviews on those. First thing first.
Beak Boater. 07-28-2016 09:17 AM. Went from a 2014 Cobia 256 with twin 150's, that I had for 2 years, to a 2016 Cobia 277 with twin 200. Havent got a lot of hrs on the 277 but both boats are solid. No problems, the 256 looked brand new when I traded it in. I think they build a great boat at their price point.

We had a Sportsman 282 on order before the company pulled their BS with quarterly price increases despite their inability to deliver a boat..ours was delayed 5 times before we cancelled. Started looking at the Cobia's once Sportsman reached/exceeded their price point and never looked back.

The best boat in that category (imo) with the in floor fish boxes that hold ice all day, flush mount everything on the gunnels. Has a great ride and dry for its size.
Here it is in a nutshell. So far none of the boats have the layout that works for me like a Cobia, IMO Cobia makes the best use of their space. I really like the GW and the GW dealer but it's priced at $178,000. Comparable Cobia 277 $138,000. Thats a huge difference!!!
Congratulations on your new soon to be Sea Hunt or Cobia! I spent months looking for my first offshore fishing boat and my story is in another post. I know how challenging it to make a choice as so many dynamics come into play. I truly believe the Cobia and Sea Hunt are excellent boats. I ultimately purchased a 2015 Cobia 296 over the Sea Hunt.
