  2. Eye Glasses - Costco, Walmart or LensCrafters - DISboards

    www.disboards.com/threads/eye-glasses-costco-walmart-or...

From my experience, no other "eyewear specialist" at Walmart, Costco, Sams, etc has ever been able to answer even one level up from the basic questions I had about lenses or frames. Since money was a concern for me in past years between leaving LensCrafters and recent years, I have tried JC Penny, Walmart, and Target.

I picked up my glasses last Friday. I wear contacts, so these are really just for at night. Well when I put them on, I noticed they had to deep scratches in them. I think the kid that helped me scratched them when he took them in the back to adjust them. He had me try them on, while...

Has anyone used Sam's Club or Costco for eye glasses? How was your experience? Both are over $150 cheaper for 2 pair than America's Best and Vision Works.

The last time I purchased glasses from walmart vision center for $125 total. The first pair of glasses was a PITA , one of the lenses kept popping out eventhough the frame was nice and tight, then the frame was bent from one of the repairs and one of the lenses got a scratch too, all that within the first month.

Walmart, and I assume also Sams Club, are good if you have a prescription Costco can't handle. Quality lenses a WalMart seem more expensive then at Costco. Quality lenses a WalMart seem more expensive then at Costco.

My DH got an eye exam and glasses at America's Best - they were PACKED the day we were there and we felt a bit like cattle, but he hasn't had any trouble with the glasses and we paid $70 for 2 pairs (and got the eye exam "free" since we bought the deal).

Lenscrafters is VERY EXPENSIVE in relationship to MOST of the optometrists, Walmart, etc. in my area. When I priced my son's new contact lenses prescription Lens Crafters was the only one that was more than our opthamologist. We ended up getting them from an optometrist practice for about half the price.

    www.disboards.com/threads/super-walmart-shutting-down-all...

It was a really nice store that stocked the staples as well as some nicer items. After it closed, we were stuck with a really bad location that didn't carry everything. That's when we really took notice of how product overlap between Walmart and Sam's really hinges on location. We shifted to Costco once our membership year was up.

  11. Eye Glasses and the Thrill Rides - How did you do?

Both my husband and I use the sports eyeglasses straps. You can get them at walmart or any eyeglass store etc. I like the kind that are longer and you can cinch tighter rather than the one length tube style. We never had any problems with them and gave me piece of mind.
