The lens weight remains the same but the mass moment arm changes with movement of the lens elements. The CGO-3 gimbal was not designed with multiple lens options in mind so any change in lens carries the risk of altering the weight and balance enough to prevent the software and actuators from fully stabilizing the image.
F2.8 4.35mm 16M FOV 90° 13G replacement lens for Git2/GoPro - GitUp Action Camera. Yup, I have to agree with that. Not sure if the plastic lens cover will fit over this one but even if it doesn't it should still work ok. dan met.
WTFDproject said: @RudaR, The CGo3+ came with a choice of two lens barrel types. One can be unscrewed. One cannot. You have the one that cannot be unscrewed. It would make no difference if you could. The screw-in replacement lens will not work with the larger diameter barrel of the lens type you have. And you will have no way to focus it anyway.
Recently decided to replace the stock lens on CGO3P with pixAero. Got the parts, watched a few explaining vids to avoid surprises during disassembly since i've never stripped a CGO3 before. Went on with it. The "surgery" itself went without surprises - disassembled the camera, removed the sensor module, removed the lens mount, installed one ...
If your lens is focusing too close, you will need to turn it clockwise. You will probably not have to move it more than 1/8" Place a pencil mark on the lens mount and a series of marks 1/32" apart on the lens barrel adjacent to it. Take a series of still shots using jpeg mode Adjust the lens one mark between shots
Oct 10, 2018. #1. Not a new topic by far, but still I wanted to share with you that I finally decided to upgrade to the PixAero 3.77mm lens. I was a bit reluctant because I had to purchase directly from the manufacturer in Russia (and Mexican postal service leaves a lot to be desired). However, everything went surprisingly well and I received ...
Said mini zoom as stated in my post and their description copied below: With it being over 40 degrees narrower than the stock GoPro lens, 8 degrees narrower than the DJI Inspire X3 and Phantom 4/3 cameras and 16 degrees narrower than the Yuneec H CGO3+ camera, this lens brings your subjects closer without being too zoomed in to introduce unwanted image jitter.
Today, these tiny sensors at the base of the lens are all the same, in drones, selfie cams (i.e., Gopro/Drift, etc), cellphones, point and shoot pocket cameras, etc. The Typhoon has a basic one with mediocre bitrate like most other drones. But it is the lens that makes a big difference in still photography and video.
Has anyone done the lens upgrade on the newer style of CGO3+ lens. Mine has the fixed lens that is glued to the sensor board.
16. Repeat steps 10 thru 15 until you get the best picture. It is trial and error, I had to screw in my lens about 1/5th of a turn to find the optimal point. At one point you may need to turn the lens backwards as you will eventually pass the sweet spot.
