The information below explains which cameras support external microphones, what type of microphones are supported, and information about how to use external microphones with the camera. The following GoPro cameras support external microphones: HERO12/11/10/9/8 Black (requires a Media Mod or Pro Mic Adapter to use an external microphone).
I purchased a GoPro 10 black and I need to connect a wireless microphone, my question are: what brand do you recommend for?
This was okay when microphones were mostly analog with a 3.5mm connector. But microphones are going digital and GoPro (and DJI) will have to provide a digital audio interface sooner or later. In my case (not an uncommon one) there is a digital transmission from the sender to the receiver of the Rode Videomic Go II.
Rode video Micro TRS style plug or Rode Wireless Go kit. Simply connect the USB into the Media Module for ext power. test out before get it right. you are not going to get any usb type C mics to work it requires for external mic the promic or media module.

All micprophones are working perfectly when connecting them to an external recorder (I have a Zoom H1n which records with all these mics on two channels and stereo if ...
Firmware updated. Plug in Rode external into Media Mod port. Go to presets, pick one and the mics is greyed out. How do I get this external mic to show up in a preset and not grey out the mics in my preset? When I unplug the external mic, the mics section allows me to select front/back/stero. Thanks!
