American Airlines | AAdvantage - What is the AA Gold Service desk - I made AA Gold recently. Never got anything from AA like a letter explaining Gold benefits. Per their website there is a Gold service desk. Are they supposed to give me a Gold service desk phone number? Thanks.

You're in HI, area code 808, so at some point there was probably a data entry area and you ended up with 708 in your profile.
A couple of things have worked for me: 1. Call the local toll-free AT&T number, and this, effectively, puts you on a line in the US, and then you can call the EXP desk. 2. I've also directly called the EXP number from foreign destinations (including SIN and HKG).
The best way is for you to call AAdvantage customer service 1-800-882-8880 (I hope that was right) and ask them for the PLT number exactly the way you have described in your post. FewMiles.. I attained Platinum on January 14 (via the challenge). The new status went "live" on the web site about 48 hours later.
Its not "people" who answer the phone in that manner, its a recorded message that acknowledges you've called either the Gold or Platinum desk, and then you are transferred to the front of the line where you speak to a regular agent, so while there isn't technically a desk, much less a dedicated dept., the answer does indicate it as such.

Unfortunately, it costs money every time I dial these 800 numbers and I'm wondering if possibly missy or somebody else has local numbers for the Alaska MVP/Gold desk, the Mileage Plan, and the Partner Award desk. I can verify my Alaska information to confirm that I am indeed gold if needed before someone wants to PM me this information! Thanks!

You could just call the UK (depending upon where you are in the US) or ask the regular line to transfer you to the gold line.
