In 1971, all the community colleges were part of Tribhuvan University. The University has the largest number of full-time enrollments in the world. The 49th graduation ceremony of Tribhuvan University was on 18 December 2023, in Kathmandu, Nepal. The registrar of Tribhuvan University said more than 73000 students were graduating at that time.

In 1962, the Central Library of Lal Durbar (established 1957) was merged with the Tribhuvan University Library (established 1959) in accordance to the decision of HMG, Nepal and became Tribhuvan University Library. In 1977 (2033 BS) it was renamed Tribhuvan University Central Library.
The Institute of Medicine ( IOM) is one of the five technical institutes under Nepal's Tribhuvan University. [2] IOM offers undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs. The institute has eight constituent campuses and fifteen affiliated colleges in Nepal. Its central campus is Maharajgunj Medical Campus in Kathmandu.

Nepal's first institution of higher education, Tri-Chandra College, was established in 1918 by Chandra Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana. The college introduced science at the Intermediate level a year later, marking the genesis of formal science education in the country. In 1924, it became a full four year institution with an enrollment of just 30.
Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital is a public hospital in Nepal. It was established in 1982. [1] Initially, it had a 300 bed facility which has now increased and now it has a 700 bed facility. The hospital is the site of Under Tribhuvan University teaching and research activities for Institute of Medicine.

Established in 1972 AD, the campus is second oldest engineering institution of Nepal after Thapathali Campus.
