Mobile is the best platform for free puzzle games. Not exactly strategy, but it could be fun to look into. All of these suggestions you can just save whenever and quit which is useful for when you are playing for 5-10 min at a time. Most good mobile turn-based RPGs either cost up front or are gacha games, so I don't know what to tell you there.

I recommend checking out DragonFist Unlimited. It is a slow grind at first, but it introduces a bunch of features as you progress, including idle features. It monetizes with a $9.99 package that removes ads and increases drop rate. One of the best mobile games I've played in years and created by an active, solo developer.
10 dollars is well worth it for slay the spire. The games addicting and so much fucking fun. Idk how much balloon tower defense 6 is but that's also another solid choice. There a free to play adventure time game called card wars that is fun. SEGA has put alot of its classic games on mobile like super monkey ball and crazy taxi for free.
Just wanted to share my list of best mobile games over the last couple years. Especially with the amount of 'fake/clickbaity' games out there good games seem to be a rare occurrence. Top 10 (random order): The Way Home (Roguelike) Pixelated roguelike with replayable story or endless arena mode. Fun gameplay and good story with some humor.
One of my personal favorite mobile games, Gunfire Reborn, also has a co-op mode, and I think it’s one of the most fun experiences to play with your friends. It’s a fast-paced first-person shooter with roguelike elements, and you can play it with up to 3 other players via online co-op where you fight together against the enemies and bosses.
