  2. BBC and Sport — Digital Spy

Most people can receive bbc4 and it saves all this switching from one channel to another. They can put all their Sports on bbc4 and use bbc2 If there is more than one live sport on and BBC iplayer. This moving programmes from one channel to another is stupid. The ratings would be smaller as it's further down the EPG.

  3. BBC News audio on Sounds — Digital Spy

It’s been mentioned in the BBC Soubds thread in the radio forum. It’s not the news channel 24/7 though, between 6am and 9am, whilst the news channel shows breakfast, it carries Radio 4, and overnight at weekends it’s the World Service. Thanks. I just noticed the audio is different from what's on telly. Richard46 Posts: 60,012.

  4. How the BBC’s sport coverage lost its way — Digital Spy

    forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2458097/how-the-bbc-s-sport-coverage-lost-its-way

In April 2022, Catherine Leng, a senior journalist on the BBC News Channel, wrote to Stephen Mawhinney, the head of sports journalism: “It has been a really enormous issue in the last month or so, and our coverage has all been from the point of view of trans inclusion, rather than the impact of women’s sport.”

  5. Why no sports news on main BBC news bulletins? — Digital Spy

22/05/17 - 22:08 #5. They will cover any major sport story in the main BBC1 bulletins. Just like they cover the major news stories. They only have 25 mins or so. But, of course, everyone can get the News Channel and they have (IIRC) one short and one long sports news segment most hours. Ginger Daddy Posts: 8,507.

  6. no local news on BBC breakfast? — Digital Spy

    forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2466395

Today's BBC Breakfast, like a few over the Games, was only scheduled for 45 minutes on BBC1 so an expense to have all the regions and Nations there to produce just one bulletin. Breakfast on BBC1 is extended to 8am today as the Triathlon is postponed until tomorrow at least due to pollution levels in the Seine.

  7. Jermaine Jenas Sacked by BBC — Digital Spy

    forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2467224

BBC News are reporting it was due to unsolicited text messages to a female One Show staffer. I thought he might have presented MOTD at some point. Not now! I wish they'd sacked the gobby other one with £1.3 million salary, particularly as there are quite a few competent alternatives to that one.

Yes, in 1988 coverage was split between ITV and C4, with coverage on C4 overnight and at breakfast time, and on ITV during the day. As you suggest, this was in the days when C4 was very much ITV2, and when C4 began one of the aims was to be able to do proper multi-channel ...

  9. Isn’t it time the BBC had a dedicated Sports Channel?

    forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2432327

26/07/22 - 14:22 #15. It’s been an unusually busy year with lots of sport events in the Summer and the football WC in November and December, in a more typical year though the BBC would have hardly anything live to show on a dedicated sports channel for long periods. mavreela Posts: 4,991.

    forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/1841819/the-where-is-my-bbc-regional-news-and...

One of the downsides for the BBC merging the domestic and world channels together. Domestic news channel could show Olympic footage because the BBC has UK rights, World couldn't because of course the BBC didn't have worldwide rights. It was delayed by, what, about 20 minutes.
