I’m 12 weeks today and going in for my NIPT testing where I’ll receive another ultrasound which I presume would be another abdominal one. I think earlier on, when the baby is much smaller, the transvaginal ultrasounds are used. Since you’re nearing 12 weeks it should be abdominal!

BAby489. Sep 19, 2024 at 1:47 PM. I had my ultrasound at 12w6days and tech said she is 99% sure it's a boy. She didn't use the nub theory so I don't know if it's true. I am still waiting on the NIPT tests to confirm. Like. March 2025 Babies. For context, I got a low risk NIPT.
Mine was doing flips and stretching all over the place. They caught a pic of him /her upside down as well lol. Mine was upside down for my 12 week ultrasound but then I got up, went to the bathroom and walked around and then he flipped around. Mine was too like a little bat! This was 10 weeks though.

That’s interesting that they didn’t schedule you for a an ultrasound. With my last pregnancy they couldn’t find the heartbeat at 12 weeks with the Doppler so they said it’s policy to get an ultrasound. Turned out my placenta was between my belly and the baby acting like a pillow. I couldn’t feel kicks till a little later either.

I think I saw a video here that said muscles begin to develop around 9 weeks and they have muscles spasms which is the cause for some jerking/movements in the U/S. Like.
The last was a transvaginal at 8 weeks to make sure it was a viable pregnancy. I will be getting a 12 week scan, but I'm high risk. the scan between 11 - 12.6 weeks is possibly the most important. They test for a lot of specific things at that scan and in Australia is a scan not to be missed.
Feb 3, 2021 at 1:24 PM. I measured 4 days ahead at my 12 week scan. Tech and Dr said it’s likely that the fetus was stretching and the measurement was a little off, but it doesn’t change the due date. It’s normal to measure ahead or behind by a few days.
