The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, [1] [2] also known as Nike EYBL, or simply EYBL, is a basketball circuit for teams of players aged 17 and under. The circuit was founded in 2010 [3] and is composed of AAU travel teams. [4] Both boys and girls play in the EYBL in their respective categories.
The tournament moved into the new Suncoast Credit Union Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College in December 2016. In 2020, the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time in the 48-year history that the tournament was canceled. [4] The tournament resumed the following year, in 2021. [5]
The inaugural tournament was held November 23, 24, and 26, 2006. The tournament is played at the State Farm Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. In the current format, the tournament consists of eight teams from separate conferences. All eight teams are guaranteed three games.
