The Rinnai efficiently sends 140-degree water to the furnaces to heat the house. The 140-degree water is reduced to 120-degrees by mixing with cold water to supply my hot water needs. Amazingly efficient system. However, I don't think a tankless heater just to supply your hot water needs would be a good choice in TV.
TECO offer of Free Tankless Water Heater. Has anyone taken advantage of TECO's program of a free Rinnai Tankless Water Heater? Their offer does not cover the cost of installation which is about $850 if I chose to mount the unit outside. If I chose to leave have the Tankless Water Heater inside, a special double wall vent must be installed to ...
Thanked 146 Times in 92 Posts. Tankless Water Heaters. I changed out from a tank heater last year; seemed like a good deal from TECO with monthly no-interest payments. Right away, a couple times per month, the shower would go cold. Turned the faucet off and waiting for everything to heat up again and got hot water again.
It sounds like my system is using either the same, or a similar valve as the one you may have. The water recirculates internally using a diverter valve that is installed beneath a sink which ties the incoming hot water supply line to the cold water supply line and allows water in the hot water supply line to flow into the cold water supply line when the pump is active, thus acting the same as ...
Tank less has more expensive up front cost. Was told that electric tankless was not a good idea (almost impossible to re coup costs) Since you already have gas I, personally, would put in a tankless gas heater. Do not know size of your garage and need for garage space. Tankless can create more storage area in the garage.
Less maintenance. Our tankless needs to be descaled annually. Kiley & Sons Plumbing for about $100. Most people have had a tank type water heater forever, and have never done any maintenance on it. In fact, the Rheem manual on my tank type water heater doesn't even "require" any maintenance.

Called Scott at 8:30 and had an appointment between 2 & 6 in the afternoon. Their guy arrived at 12:15 and finished replacement of our 19 year old ...
If you have an existing hot water tank, its never cost effective to go tankless especially if you are only 2 people living here in the Villages. The initial cost to run a gas line and exhaust to the new tankless can cost 3-4 times the amount of just getting a tank replacement.
Hot Water Heater. Okay - I have called Mike Scott - they are coming today between 11am and 3pm to replace the 16 year old ELECTRIC hot water heater. The cost is just under $1,000. I will post the exact price once they have done the job! Thanks for QUICKLY replying to my request this morning for recommendations!
