Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in learning how to gift someone Xbox Game Pass for PC. It is not possible to gift a subscription. You can purchase a digital code for an Xbox Gift Card from the Microsoft Store website. The website allows you to adjust the amount of money that you want to put on the code.
So the answer is yes, you can gift Game Pass subscription codes to others without any problems. I should note that my friend is a current GPU subscriber and they applied the code to their existing account. I would assume it would work for a new account as well.

After taking a close look at the different options it doesn't look like purchasing Xbox Game Pass for PC as a gift is not available by design. Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to actually "fix" this as there is nothing to fix. This is not to say this will never be an option but for the time being it is not something that you are ...

If you already put the codes into the account then I do not believe the retail store will give you a refund. Either way you would need to talk to the store that you bought the cards from. If they are physical cards and you have the invoice, you can return from where you purchased it. Thanks for the quick response.
It actually depends on the gift cards that you purchased. If they are Microsoft or Xbox currency, then you can use them to make purchases on Xbox/Microsoft store. You can also use them to purchase subscription, games and some add ons. So if I enter the codes into my Xbox account on my Xbox will that count as credit towards my game pass ...
On Microsoft's website you would have to add the credit card and also, you can't purchase 12 months there. What you could is to purchase the Game Pass via 25-digit code gift card on a retail store and redeem it on your console. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. WPAK. Xbox Ambassador.
Xbox, why are you guys lying? You’re in here telling people you can only purchase one month of game pass as a gift and it automatically makes you purchase three fix this problem for most of us who have been here since the day you came out this has been a consistency you have not addressed. Nobody wants to buy somebody three months of game pass.
But since you mentioned that you have already redeemed an Nvidia Game Pass gift code last month and now you can't redeem a new one, this can only mean that your subscription is indeed an Xbox subscription trial. You may also reach out to Microsoft Xbox Support for confirmation as they have the tools and resources to properly investigate this ...
