I have a Verizon SIM card but I am not sure if the phone will be compatible with Verizon. Frequencycheck says it is compatible with all 3 Verizon LTE bands but there is a warning that provider needs to approve it. Verizon's IMEI check says it is not compatible.
Lots of people sell Verizon DPP phones on swappa - swappa's IMEI checker doesn't check for that for Verizon phones. ebay doesn't even do an IMEI check. If someone is planning on not paying off a device, they don't really care if they are charged $35 to sell and ship it because they make $350 - $35 = $315 and didn't have to pay off the device.
Please contact our Customer Care at 1-800-867-7183". I figure the G5 Plus IMEI is being flagged because it is somehow still linked to my TracFone account. I haven't gotten back with TracFone support yet. In my experience, it's best to know as much as you can about a problem *before* bringing it to customer support.
a trend that is developing is in addition to the 'carrier locking' that prevents use of a different carrier SIM is for the carriers to allow and restrict devices based on IMEI among their own brands and/or MVNOs. i am not familiar with Verizon policies here but on T-Mobile for example Metro phones used to be locked and not work with T-Mobile SIM.

So, is it a safe assumption to think that if a phone passes Cricket IMEI Check then it'll work with AT&T post-3G ? I went ahead and checked the IMEIs of my phones against Cricket IMEI Check. If you think this is a worthwhile endeavor, then I invite you to contribute to the list. * Unlocked Essential PH-1: Yes. * Unlocked Pixel 4a: Yes.
Several (10) years ago, TMobile was mostly on PCS (1900MHz) and AWS (1700/2100MHz) Back then, At&t and Verizon had 800MHz cellular band, in addition to some PCS/AWS. Tmobile now has some 700MHz spectrum, along with At&t and Verizon in addition to 600MHz. In many areas, TMobile's issues are due to tower spacing vs frequency.
So I had a complicated chat today that finally ended when the port request (Tracfone AT&T to Tracfone Verizon) was denied because the Tracfone branded phone I was trying to transfer to couldn't be activated on Tracfone Verizon (VoLTE issue). But that didn't stop all my minutes from disappearing, LOL. Anyway, they did fix it.
Considering purchasing a brand new iPhone from a private party. Phone has never been opened, but when I check the IMEI on Verizon's site...
Obviously though Sprint couldn't tell you if Verizon was still financing a Verizon device, but if it were a Sprint device they could tell you. Also when you get an insurance replacement or warranty replacement, you should check the IMEI because I have gotten Asurion replacements that are still being financed.
