update at 9:52 am (CST) I tried something - I opened Microsoft Edge - then opened Explorer - and tried to download a free game from the online games (Jewel Quest). Not sure why, but I was able to get the MSN games manager to open and update (which I had suspected was one problem). Once that updated, I was able to download Jewel Quest and launch.
