The Cumberland Valley School District is a large, rural and suburban public school district located in Central Pennsylvania. It covers Hampden Township, Monroe Township, Middlesex Township and Silver Spring Township in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Cumberland Valley High School (CV) is a public high school founded in 1954. It is located in the Cumberland Valley School District of Mechanicsburg , Cumberland County , Pennsylvania . In the 2019–2020 school year, according to the National Center for Education Statistics , the school had 2,809 pupils enrolled in the ninth to twelfth grades.
The school received a charter on October 12, 1926, making it the first normal school in Pennsylvania to become a state teachers college. On June 3, 1927, the State Council of Education authorized the school to change its name to the State Teachers College at Shippensburg. The business education curriculum was approved on December 3, 1937.
