After you click on New then type in a name for the new file then click Save. At this point, you want to add systems. Since you are a premium subscriber, you can import from the RRDB. Go to the Database menu then click on Import then RadioReference Web.. See if you can take it from there.
If so, then two ways: if using a cable connected to the front, put the scanner in Mass Storage mode then click the Scanner Write button. If using the LAN method, then click the FTP Scanner Write button. The scanner FTP Writable account has to be setup inside the scanner first. alrighty, got that done.
ProScan is very easy to use and programming is both powerful and intuitive with features not available in other software. The manual shows you how to open database files and favorites lists for manual programming, and also for importing programming data directly from the RR database with a RR premium subscription --> (highly recommended).
Save the zipped file, uniden_usbser.zip to your PC. Then, use Windows Explorer, WinZip, 7Zip, or another compressed file to extract the file folder. Inside the folder are two files. Now that the extracted file uniden_usbser.inf file is on your PC, go to the Device Manager.
ProScan is mostly software doing more complex things once the scanner is updated/operational. ProScan is a software developer and would be a little more "open" to add/update software features. That's probably most of the reason for the cost. I use Sentinel for some things and ProScan as well as ARC for others.
Install the software in your computer and then connect the scanner to the computer. There is an extensive help document in Proscan... from the top toolbar in Proscan once it's installed on your computer click "support", then "manual". There are also many, many videos on Youtube.
