I believe I have been a 'victim' of this new behavior on my AC68U. I am running my Asus router in AP mode. After the update, clients connecting to guest network 1 weren't able to be assigned an IP address by my main router (an OPNsense box) anymore. Switching from guest network 1 to 2 solved that issue for me. In my mind this is a bug.
After it has rebooted, just to be doubly sure, I would power off the router and modem. Wait 30 seconds before turning on the modem. Wait for it to fully boot (a couple of minutes) before powering on the router. Your router should now have been assigned a new IP address (check on the router's Network Map page).
New Around Here. Hi! I received my Asus RT-AC88u today. Configuring the firewall won't work. When I try to add a port to my NAS a pop-up window opens: "192.168.1.200 is not a valid IP address!". I tried entering the IP address of my PC instead with the same result. My router's IP is 192.168.1.1 so it's in the same range.
Main router login---->select Lan------>select DHCP server tab------->scroll to bottom section of page. ---->enable manual assignment ( you need the mac address of the node and the ip address you want to use) you can unpair the node and repair it to main router and it will give it whatever IP you placed on this list.
I have anew Asus RT-N66U. As Asus suggested I recently upgraded to FW 3.0.0.4.220. Overal,l I am very satisfied with this new WIFI router. However, I need to set a few manually assigned IPs around the DHCP but I am not able to do so. The MAC address list (just above the apply) does not appear.
