Hi I'm installing minecraft server version. I installed forge directly but it showed "Downloading minecraft server failed, invalid checksum. Try again, or manually place server jar to skip download". So I downloaded server.jar manually and tried it again, then it said "Failed to download version manifest, can not find server jar URL.".

Download the Windows Installer, not the plain Installer. And also don't just open the Java file by clicking it twice, open the Command Prompt and go to the file directory, then run the Java file through there. Members. 4. Posted May 15, 2021. I followed the video and got this. This topic is now closed to further replies. Go to topic listing. I looked at the properties and it didn't say it was and executable file and i was wondering if that was the problem. I cant seem to figure out how to do that either.
Now for the installation of forge I first installed minecraft server vanilla to generate all the files. Then ran the installer: $ sudo -jar forge-x.x.x-x.x.x-installer.jar --installServer. If you don't specify the installServer flag, it will try to run the installer using a GUI which will not work if you are connected through ssh to your server.
