Age 14+ = UTR 11~. Age 15+ = UTR 12~. Age 16+ = UTR 13~. Age 17+ = UTR 13~. Age 18+ = UTR 14~. Pretty insane to be honest lol, considering UTR9-10 is an extremely high level of play on average, and represents like less than 3 percent of all players or something like that, and those kids are that level at age 12-13.
UTR changes the algorithm to not count matches 2.0 UTR apart yet hosts on its platform the ITA summer circuits where some of the draws had wide ranges-one tourney had a draw with UTR 6.86 to 12.63. The top seed played 4 matches, and for 3 of the 4 he allowed 3 games or less total over 2 sets.
jcgatennismom said: The best way to get a UTR 13 is to either beat several UTR 13s, blow out higher 12s or win 6-7 games vs several 13.5+ or even better a 14+. To play 13.5+s, you basically have to play Future Qualifiers or higher jr ITFs- at ITF grade 4s the highest UTR players might be 13.3ish.
Hall of Fame. May 5, 2019. #9. @HOT SHOT I looked at UTR and currently there are only four Australian men who played D3 college tennis for the 18/19 season. One was a UTR 9.3; the other 3 were UTR 9.5-10. For NAIA colleges, there was one 8.4 and one 9.8 and then 7 other players rated 10-12. For D2 there were two Australians who played rated 8.5 ...
For Alcaraz & Fils it dropped off to below 1 point per year by the time their UTR reached 12. For example, a man I know improved from 4 to 6 in one year, but then it dropped off to less than one point improvement per year after that. I've also seen juniors do the 3.4 to 5.4 stretch or 4 to 6 stretch in their best year.
Need a partners for a prize money doubles tournament. College tennis player (Endicott College D3). Very comfortable in doubles 7.5 utr.
According to their web-site, UTR is a modified Elo algorithm that will give a player a rating after one match and be fully reliable after five. UTR does look at at most the last 30 matches played in the past year, and gives more credit to matches played more recently within that 12 month period.
Aug 18, 2020. #10. OnTheLine said: ...they are now including USTA mixed league and tournament matches and putting them into verified ratings. So you have 7.0 with 4.0M/3.0F pairings and 8.0 with 4.5M/3.5F pairings ... That is going to kill USTA mixed as we know it.
Talk Tennis Guru. Feb 10, 2018. #2. TwistAndShout said: So junior tennis is more about UTR these days than USTA ranking. My son wants to know what UTR I was in high school... in 1989 lol! He’s 13 and a 7.1. That decent since he still weighs 105 lbs but the really good kids in the 14s are 10+ UTR. (Rafa is like 16.4)
Not at all. From personal experience, 4.0 men NTRP is about 5.00 to 7.00 UTR. Women's NTRP is about a half point lower than men's NTRP (4.0 man is 4.5 woman). And there is not separation between men's and female's UTR. Okay. When I posted another chart (below) in the tips section many said it was also wrong. I guess there's no consensus.
