Slayer task. A Slayer assignment is given by a Slayer master. Killing the assigned monsters grants players Slayer experience.
You train slayer by speaking to a slayer master and obtaining a slayer task. You then have to complete the task in order to get the next one and so forth. While you are on the task, you will receive slayer experience (alongside other combat experience) for every single kill until the task is finished.
To receive a Slayer task, players must visit one of nine Slayer Masters throughout RuneScape. All but two Slayer Masters have a Combat level requirement, and the final Slayer Master also has a Slayer level requirement.
Follow a task list that offers the fastest Slayer experience per hour, and use Slayer reward points to skip undesirable tasks as often as possible. However, some players may find that alternative priorities suit them best, as Slayer also has the potential to be a highly profitable skill.

When you complete your Slayer task, you gain a number of Slayer points depending on the Slayer Master. Slayer points give access to a wide range of Slayer-related rewards, and I'll talk more about Slayer points soon.
