I'm not buying a 2 year old Porsche off craigslist. I'm buying a 1500 dollar truck off craigslist. It's history doesn't really matter because it's a 1500 dollar truck. With autotrader I am looking for a 2-4 year old vehicle. Since people have to pay to list there, the cars are typically in decent shape. You're going to pay a decent penny for ...

I'm from boston where craigslist is the main tool for buying & selling furniture, cars & renting apts. If I put a listing I usually get 5-10. Responses & sell whatever in a week. Ive sold a desk, sofa, office chair, tv, bike, futon, etc. I also bought a lot of stuff too. Including a car & apt. So I listed a high end musical keyboard here in miami.

cargurus is free to post. I have used them to sell cars but I still think my buyers were through CL. The ads on CL go to the last page pretty fast. So to find real for sale by owner ones, you have to search your specific car (ie 2012 Honda CRV) to see the oldest ads and then maybe find something decent.

Used, right? Go to your local craigslist. Private Owner ONLY. Search for your car of choice. Average price will give you your particular market price for the car. ASKING price, btw. So it is expected to be $500 to $1000 less purchase. ESP on OBO cars. Yes, ooohhh, it's private party, I am buying from dealer though. Right.

For example transmissions for my car (a 95 as well) sell for $400 on ebay, new are around $3k-$4k. Engines about the same, maybe a little more, $600. A MAF sensor is $50 used, $160 new. The biggest problem with selling on ebay will be shipping the big/heavy stuff. For that I would probably try to sell on craigslist.

The 1st owner was exactly that. We paid $11K for a 2003 GMC Sierra Truck 88.1K miles last May, currently it has 88.5K miles. We are the 3rd owner, the 2nd owner spent at least 5K minimum. He did a lot of modifications new body paint with 1 of a kind front end, SSR type-tail and engine (Flowmaster).

Two major issues here, Lillyr88 . . . If, according to the title, the vehicle was "owned" by a dealer, regardless of the state and/or what the seller may have claimed, your transaction was no longer a Private Party Sale so Arizona State Sales Taxes are valid and must be paid prior to registering.

An example, when the owner buys the car there's no history of smog or service for 6 years. How can this be? Isn't everyone suppose to smog a vehicle every two years, at least in CA. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. CARFAX Vehicle History Report for this 2001 TOYOTA TACOMA XTRACAB
