Windows 10 comes inbuilt with DirectX 12. There is no need to download and install it. Follow the steps to check it: 1. Press Windows + R key. 2. Type "dxdiag.exe" and press enter. 3. Now you can see the DirectX version in your computer.
If you delete DirectX files from Windows, Windows updates . will replace them anyway. If you delete any DX files from a games folder you will likely bork the game. DX12 and other DirectX files - 9,10 & 11 - are not processes and do not use any system resources. These files are code libraries
After running diagnostics, I have detected that one of the .dll components of DirectX 12 is corrupt, so I need to reinstall DirectX 12. The problem is that DirectX 12 comes pre-installed with Windows 10 and cannot be uninstalled. When I try to use the DirectX installer, it detects that I already have the last version and cancels the reinstallation.

1. DirectX 12 is fully backwards compatible to version 11, if you have DirectX12 installed, there should be no problem with DirectX 11 games. 2. Click your Start Button, then just type dxdiag and press Enter. Select the Display tab on the resulting DirectX utility. Please provide a screenshot of that Display tab.
DirectX 12 is backward compatible, so the game should work. Check the games website to be sure it is compatible with Windows 10. Report abuse
Is it possible to install DirectX 12 on WIndows 10 64-bit machine. I have recently installed Windows 10 64-bit Pro and I still have DX 11, and after all updates, still 11, although all the ads and one of the main reasons for migrating to the 10 is the ability to use GPU on more than 1 core, and after update seeing this made me sad (at least).
Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.
