These "new" Blackfins compared only to the other price boats at the show. Only difference being the price which I suppose is based on the name with the mfg hoping that people, like myself, who knew (past tense) Blackfin to be a quality boat will be duped into thinking these (in name only) "Blackfin" boats are of the same pedigree. They are not.
Go for Jupiter or Contender. I have an "original" blackfin 29 now and we were Blackfin dealers for about 9 years, so I can tell you there is no comparison. Jupiter is actually an "updated" Blackfin. Same owner (Carl Herndon) makes the Jupiter.

The 28 is one of the Cary/Blackfin hulls - i.e. pre 1982. It became the 27 when Blackfin Marine (Carl Herndon) bought Blackfin from Cary. I've never been on the 28, but since it is the same hull as the later 27's, which I have, and I'm sure it is the same, I can say it is a good riding boat.

The dealer (Jacobsens) has been great from start to present. The boat has held its value pretty well too. For a complete package (boat, motors (including 9.9 kicker) instruments, canvas, trailer, head etc) that cost around $80,000 it is probably still worth north of 40K. I would go with the Blackfin, I had the 32 Combi and now have the 38 FB and they are great boats. The Bertram 31 is a classic but I think the 32 Blackfin is all around a better boat. I would look at the 33 Blackfin also which is a nice setup. 18 knot cruise on a 32 BF with 355 hp 3208 cats doesn't sound right.

Just ordered 2021 blackfin dc with twin 200 mercury's looked at all the above boats and liked the lay out and finish for both fishing and cruising on the blackfin. Coming from 2007 robalo cc with twin 150 Yamaha's .Good luck on what boat you choose
